Straight outta Siljian

God smiling on Dalarna

The trip to Dalarna was not just about the ski race, there was also some fun social time. We got to hang out at Korf Haus and go for a walk around the neighbourhood to Hasse’s family home where we had a fantastic fika. The highlight for me was naturally taking the horses for a walk through the neighbourhood, and I got to try some of the new hand signals on the much-loved Uncle Nejsti.

I also got some nice souvenirs from the trip: a hand-painted candle made by Sölwi, and a diploma from the race. I also like seeing my negative splits preserved online for all time. I did get a Vasaloppet-branded sport bag for Graham so he can carry his skis back and forth to the mountain, but it is quite useful and may see some action before he gets it. 😉
