Machinery on a grain farm

Here are some farm machinery photos from Wednesday’s trip to the farm. Naturally I would have like to have taken 1000 photos of barn cats, but this was a work trip!

This is the auger coming off the air drill. It sucks up seed so that it can be planted in the ground.

The feed mill. This one dates to the 1970s and chops up hay and crushes grains to make animal feed.

The tractor museum - the one on the left is from the 1940s. No seatbelt, no roll-over protection, and no handles to speak of. It barely has fenders!

  1. Cool older equipment – I have really enjoyed seeing the turn of the century equipment at the farm in PA. Ed’s father has stories about all of them.

“Grain engulfment” sounds awful – is that basically drowning in a grain silo? Ugh.
