Mörkö

Saturday was nice (relatively) warm and sunny weather, so we went on a long bike ride to the local archipelago island Morkö.

Near the start of our bike ride we had lunch at a new local fika spot: Surådeg Bageri which is just 5km down the road in Tumba. We had a nice veggie lunch, split a cardamom bun, and then bought home two great loaves of sourdough: 1) olive, cheese, and sundried tomato and 2) apple and hazelnut. We rate it 4 cinnamon buns.

We rode by some previously tested fika spots and kept on going. Across the ferry we saw the ice cream buffet spot (sadly closed for the season). While on the island we saw two castles: The charming brick Englhoms slott (now a spa and conference centre) and the stately hilltop Hörningsholm slott (seemingly no commercial activity, though it is well-cared for and we did meet some of the pheasant residents.

In addition to bread, we did some farmstand shopping, visiting a beekeeper for a tour and some honey, and an unattended wheelbarrow full of gourds. Next time we need to bring more panniers!
