This questions often follows or precedes ‘what do you think Swedes are like’?
Traveling makes it easier to see what is unique about Canada, but it is interesting to hear what people say about themselves.  Once or twice I have done something that made Hasse say: “That was a very Swedish thing to do”… like when I moved my bike into the shed so that the snow removal tractor driver wouldn´t be inconvenienced. Apart from the language, things are not so different here. CBC is doing a special on ‘what is Canada’  this month. I look forward to seeing the ‘how tolerant are we REALLY?’ piece they put out next.
