Soju

Soju is a distilled Korean liquor made out of rice, yams, or cassava.  Before going to Korea I heard it was a terrible mess and will give you a hangover.  Luckily I was brave enough to try it, because I LOVED IT!  It is awesome, like a sweeter, smoother vodka that doesn’t need mixing.  It is better chilled, but doesn’t need ice.  You can also add it to beer, which it really improves since I am not a big beer fan. In addition, it was crazy cheap.  ‘Good Life’ brand was about $2CDN for this size bottle, at about 30% alcohol.

It is maybe a good thing it is not that readily available in Canada, or I might drink too much of it.  (Although in my experience it was hangover -free.)
