This weekend we hosted two days of marathon canoe racing in Saskatoon. It was a busy time leading up to it, but it seemed to go off fairly well.

I did my first ‘real’ race in the stern with Saska-buddy Trevor. Graham paddled with Saska-buddy Edith.

The second day was also pretty good; this time I raced with Edith while Trevor and Graham raced mixed with some other Saska-ladies. Edith and I had a big deficit after the start, since we are a little underpowered compared to the men’s and mixed boats. But with good lines and some perseverance, we clawed our way back to pass all but 1 boat – Graham’s!

So I have 2 second place finishes and Graham has two first place finishes… but I won in eating ice cream tonight so it’s probably even.

Good work!

  1. Great pictures and great performance. One day you’ll get him – Graham that is. Maybe just paddle with him ONCE where you are in the front 🙂
