Newest digs

The south-facing side of the new place. It is up on a little hill and gets lot of light from the south and west.

We are moving in January! We have bought a little house in the same neighbourhood we’ve been renting in, even on the same street. So we’ll stay in touch with all the neighbour cats! It is not very fancy looking from the outside, but has a very bright interior and is very nicely situated on a little hill so that it gets lots of sunlight for most of the sun’s path across the sky. Right now that is not very long, but nice to catch what’s available. It has a nice wrap-around deck, and we are looking forward to a longer, sun-warmed outdoor dining season.

Our current place came furnished, but since the current owner of the new place is downsizing, they will leave some of their furniture and garden tools for us. I have been looking for nice second-hand options, and likely will be looking for some mid-century teak and other solid wood furniture to have a sustainable and (I think) stylish surrounds in the new place. The first purchase has been a 36-peice 60s-70s ceramic dinner service called ‘kosmos’, which was produced at the Gelfe factory in Gävle where we used to live. Swedish history under your sandwhich!

Fancy eating muesli out of those bowls? The new place does have space for guests, so let us know if you’d like to have a trip to Scandinavia. Send me an email if you would like to get our new postal address.

A view of our current (and future) neighborhood on a snowy day in November.
