Ikea…concluded

The final trips to Ikea were not without adventure, but happily that is behind us now.  I went back without Graham to buy the things we had piled up and stored when our credit cards wouldn’t work.  I ended up swapping a bookshelf for a better one in the ‘AS IS’ section and it was even cheaper.  It did mean I came to the till with 2 flatbed carts and 1 shopping cart, then hauled them over to the transport desk, where I had to sweet talk the clerks into delivering something that was already assembled (they don’t normally do that.)

Here is the pile of stuff that got delivered. Delivery costs the same no matter how much there is, so we got our moeny's worth.

We had a bit of a wait for our items to arrive, so we stayed in the researcher apartment owned by the university for the weekend.  Then our stuff came, and we had to put it all together with only our IKEA toolkits to help us.  It is nice to stay in our own place and we are impressed with how much it suits us.

Assembly time!

Here is the pile of cardboard and plastic leftovers! Good thing most of it was recyclable.

  1. The link to the “after” picture seems to be broken… I’m impressed with the volume of IKEA furniture you acquired! I’m glad that things finally worked out in terms of being able to purchase your furniture!
