Winter is here!

The first day of Snow in Gavle happens to be on the day where the heating system is getting maintained (and therefore out of order) and the new photocopier is being delivered (which requires several trips in the front door, which must be left propped open the whole time.  The awesome thing is the Gavle weather report on the internet still calls for sun all day without even a cloud.  I only noticed it there was precipitation because the wind is pushing it into my office windows, making a tinkling sound.  I will be going through a lot of tea at work.

During our brief visit to Toronto, Graham and I stopped by the MEC.  We had only a little bit of time between when it opened and when we left for the airport, but winter clothes are so much cheaper at MEC than in Sweden it was really worth it. We each got some winter snowboots (that we will wear with our snowshoes even when we go back to Vancouver) and some waterproof mitts.   They are of course, highly fashionable, and you can be sure I will be wearing mine to the opera.

  1. Brrrrrr… glad you are taking steps to stay warm. I’m sure that’s more fashionable than frostbite, whatever your activites.
