Racing in China

A view of the race course. You can see how hazy it is; apparently the pollution is astounding.

Graham has just finished competing at the first ever IDBF Dragon Boat World Cup!
He was an invited guest of the PRC government in Fujian province, which is kind of an adventure. After 3 days of all kinds of racing, the Canadian National Team was ranked 3rd behind China and the Philippines, both DB powerhouses. Full results are here. The live competition video was available to watch at  and also a Livestream TV player.

Enjoy these photos, the only ones to make it out from behind the great firewall of China. I’m sure Graham will have lots of great stories and photos when he gets back.

The high rise development immediately next to the race course - kind of like racing in False Creek, except this is bamboo scaffolding going up a couple dozen stories.
