Last stop on the tropical tour: Costa Rica!

The conclusion of the warm weather series lands us in Cost Rica, as close to the equator as I have ever been.  I was there for an Occupational Epidemiology conference (EPICOH).  Since we both graduated that summer,  Elizabeth came down to travel around with me after the conference (and come to the conference party!) Naturally, she was a big hit.

A great palm tree sunset
A family of raccoon-anteater-monkeys. I'm still not sure what these guys are, but they live in the jungle and eat cast-off bananas.

The hot, humid, equatorial jungle.
Me and Elizabeth with a waterfall. What a nice trip!

Elizabeth will be visiting us here in Sweden in the Spring.  It won’t be tropical, but hopefully it will have warmed up and we can enjoy the Swedish countryside!

  1. I think yor ” raccoon-anteater-monkey” is a coatimundi (relative to the raccoon and favourite jaguar food). I am sooo jealous – I wanted to see the central/south-american rainforrests for ages.

  2. the coatimundi was one of Kristina’s favourite animals in a book we had, filled with drawings of animals in their habitat – the loved the different forms of camouflage, and was always quite the nature-loving kid – even for kinds of nature she was not going to find close to home

    you and E look super-sister-cute
